Former Predator 93 Keeper Olivia Mills earns Top Conference Honor

Valdosta State University goalkeeper Olivia Mills was named the Gulf South Conference Women’s Soccer Defender of the Week on Tuesday.

Mills logged 270 total minutes, faced 15 total shots and made seven saves over three matches (all wins) on the week, including two shutouts. She stopped a penalty shot against the University Alabama-Huntsville, en route to her first shutout on the week, helping her team to a 1-0 victory. She then recorded another 1-0 shutout against Shorter University.

Last season, Mills was a member of the inaugural VSU women’s soccer team that went to the GSC Championship match. This marks the second time in her career that she has been named the GSC Defender of the Week (10/11/11 and 10/8/12). She was also named to the All-GSC Tournament Team in 2011 as well.
