Downey U10 and U12 Boys All-Star Champions Both teams will be representing Region 24 in the Section tournament in Garden Grove. Congratulations to the Downey Girls All Stars for a great weekend. Online Safe Haven Certification Safe Haven is a mandatory course that all volunteers must take if you are working with youth. This includes Coaches and Assistants, Referees and Team Managers. If you didn't get this training in formal classroom instruction, here is your chance to take it now. Available Board Positions We are looking to fill a couple key positions on our regional soccer board. Just a reminder there are NO dogs allowed on any Downey public school site and that includes Griffiths on Saturdays. We are STILL seeing dogs at Griffiths. This is a District policy and we risk our permits by the presence of dogs. Team managers, please review and enforce this with your parents.

Practice Locations
Coaches, not every park or school in Downey is an eligible practice site. Our use permits only cover the following sites listed under Fields. Also please adhere to the division restrictions. This is to spread practices out so we don't overrun a single site.

Do NOT practice at any other park or school. You will not be covered under our insurance and you will be asked to leave.

Downey Region 24 U10 Boys All-Stars defeated Lynwood's very own U10 Boys All-Stars.
The team will go on to represent Region 24 in the Section tournament in Garden Grove.

Downey United U19 Boys Section 11 Champions

Downey United U19 Boys went into the playoffs as a Wild Card and won their first playoff game 2 - 0.
Continuing their pursuit for the Section 11 Championship, they reached the final round and beat their opponent 7 - 1,
to become the Section 11 Champions.

Orange Crush U10 Boys Area Z Champions

Congratulations to the Downey AYSO Region 24 U10 Boys Orange Crush for winning the Area Z Championship.
Orange Crush defeated Wilmington on penalty kicks to claim the title.

We also want to recognize U12 Boys and U14 Girls for playing their hearts out.
The U12 Boys lost to their opponent in the championship round on penalty kicks,
while the U14 Girls lost a close game to South Gate in the semi-finals.
